Training on off-grid solar power plant sustainability in Maluku

NZMATES conducted a training on off-grid solar power plant sustainability in Maluku for staff from the local office of State Electricity Company (PLN) and Maluku’s Agency for Energy and Mineral Resources (Dinas ESDM) on November 18-21, 2019 in Ambon. The training was delivered by Dr. Andrew Crossland, Energy Storage Specialist at Infratec Ltd. and focused on key aspects of solar design and operation that can improve the long-term sustainability of these systems, such as sizing, component choice, operation and maintenance. The training also addressed some of the methodologies and findings from NZMATES' work on assessment and refurbishment design for existing solar plants in Maluku. This event is the latest in NZMATES' efforts to work with PLN and Dinas ESDM to strengthen the capacities necessary to deliver sustainable solar projects in Maluku into the future.
